Eastbourne Arndale
Centre extension
The exciting Arndale Centre
extension will rejuvenate the
town centre with new shops,
restaurants and a multi-screen
cinema. The mix of new retail,
leisure and restaurant units will
increase its attractiveness to
businesses and shoppers. The
extension will generate significant
employment opportunities for
the local community and attract
new retailers to the town. With
nearly five million visitors attracted
to Eastbourne every year, the
town centre already appeals to
tourists from a wide catchment
area. Eastbourne is the second
fastest growing seaside resort in
the UK and with the regeneration
planned, this is only set to grow.
The modern design of the extension
and cinema will provide an iconic
landmark at the important
gateway into Eastbourne town
centre. The development will
provide increased choice for
residents and visitors to
Eastbourne providing more
shopping opportunities.
Work on the extension will start
in 2015 and new retail units
fronting Terminus Road will open
for business in autumn 2016.
With a budget of £85 million, the
extension to the Arndale Centre
will generate 700 new jobs locally.
